Golden Day for Malcolm and Joan

A Golden Celebration with Lake District Hotels

Well-known Keswick couple Malcolm and Joan Craghill celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last Friday. The couple were married on 15th May 1965 at Crosthwaite Church, Keswick and then held their wedding reception at the Skiddaw Hotel, which was the first wedding reception to be held at the hotel.

Malcolm and Joan are still frequent visitors to the Skiddaw Hotel for Saturday coffees in the Conservatory; they also celebrate Mother’s Day there every year with the family, as well as holding many Christmas parties at the Borrowdale Hotel, which like the Skiddaw is also part of the Lake District Hotels group.

The couple held their 50th wedding anniversary with the family at the Borrowdale Hotel and enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch. Good friends of theirs collected them in a bright red 1929 open-top Bentley, to spend a wonderful day with close family and friends.

As valued customers of Lake District Hotels, Malcolm and Joan were both very touched when presented with two crystal ‘Borrowdale Hotel’ glasses and a beautiful bottle of Veuve Champagne, from Kit and Charles’ Graves’s, Directors of Lake District Hotels Ltd.
