August Beer Club at the Kings Arms, Keswick

The bad weather is moving on after a few days of supreme wetness, but it hasn’t put people off visiting Keswick as there’s still a bustle of people making their way through town. After all, there’s no such thing as bad weather only unsuitable clothing! (A. Wainwright). Join us at the Kings Arms tonight for our monthly beer club – see the menu and paired beers below…

Every first Monday of the month at the Kings Arms Hotel, Keswick, it’s Beer Club time. Join us for a 2 or 3 course meal paired with a flight of beers.

Monday 8th August 2012

To Start:

1) Chilli and Mango King Prawns set upon stir fried strips of vegetables with a sweet chilli sauce

2) Panied Wedges of Brie with a sweet summer berry compote

Paired with Wychwood Hobgoblin – a ruby red bitter strong in roasted malt with a moderate hoppy bitterness and slight fruity character that lasts through to the end. – 4.5%

For Mains:

1) Pork Loin Joint bound in cider with grain mustard mash and seasonal vegetables

2) Prosciutto wrapped Pheasant Breast with a sticky orange glaze served with new potatoes and seasonal vegetables

Paired with Jennings Cockerhoop - An award-winning bright golden bitter from an all malt brew. Sweet to start with a soft bitter finish – 4.6%

To Finish:

1) Red Velvet Sponge Cake served with Chantilly cream

2) Sicilian Lemon Crème Brûlée Cheesecake served with mixed berries and ice cream

Paired with Banks Sun Beam – a blond ale with a touch of goosberry and a bitter citrus after note – 4.2%
