Keswick Christmas Lights, BBC Children in Need and Late Night Shopping

BBC Children in Need event to take place in Keswick… An exciting party of music, entertainment, late-night shopping and the festive switch-on of the Christmas lights is being planned for the annual BBC Children in Need Appeal – North East & Cumbria Show extravaganza on Friday 13 November 2015 which is being broadcast live from Keswick.

Fundraising has already started for Children in Need and Lake District Hotels are doing their part to help; at the Lodore Falls Hotel, Inn on the Lake, Borrowdale Hotel, Inn on the Square  you will find delicious Children In Need cupcakes which are on sale for £1 from the 1st – 12th November, along side this Lake District Hotels are also donating £1 from every bed sold across the group from the 1st – 7th November.

Pudsey Bear will be in Keswick to switch on the Market Square Christmas Lights at 6.55pm – and Mike Zellor from BBC Radio Cumbria will be our host for an amazing evening. Packhorse Court will have their spectacular Christmas Lights switched on at 5pm by Paul Mooney, BBC Presenter.

Keswick’s fun will start at 9.30am in Packhorse Court with a sing-a-thon taking place until 9.30pm with local schools and organisations taking part. The King Kong Adventure climbing wall will be put to good use throughout the day and a painting competition will take place.

Free car parking in town has been arranged to help our visitors come and enjoy the day and evening.  Please note the following car parks will be free:  All Allerdale Borough Council Car Parks – that is Central; Bell Close; Otley Road; Lakeside;  The Crosthwaite Road car park run by Fitz Park Trust ; 150 spaces at The Rugby Club and The Rawnsley car Park run by Keswick Ministries.
