Following the success of the Borrowdale Hotel’s 2014 photographic calendar competition, we are proud to announce that we have raised £500 for the Keswick Mountain Rescue Team. The money raised has been used to purchase a lowering device for use during crag rescues.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team chairman Malcolm Miller and team member Mick Guy were presented with the donation by Nick Tebbs, the hotel’s assistant manager and Leah Davies, marketing executive for the Lake District Hotel’s group.
Mick said: We are always very grateful to receive these donations and they all count. Costs are always increasing and we wouldn’t survive without these efforts, so many thanks to Lake District Hotels”
“SNAP IT UP” Calendar
Guests of the Borrowdale Hotel were requested to send in images from their recent stay at the hotel, with the images showing the hotel or surrounding area. The calendar competition raised a lot of interest with our guests and we received so many fantastic images, it was difficult to pick the best one. The winning image was selected from over 140 photographs by judges Jane Black and Peter Rees from the Royal Photographic Society ad it now takes pride of place as the cover shot for the calendar.
We have just launched our 2015 Snap It Up competition. The winner of the calendar photo competition will win a two night break and the other 11 runners up will receive a bottle of bubbly on their next stay. We had some fantastic pictures last year and look forward to more this year. We’d like to see pictures of your dogs at the hotel and in the Borrowdale Valley as this year the money raised will go to SARDA – Search And Rescue Dog Association.
