Anyone for croquet?

It won’t be long till summer is here, so the Inn on the Lake have asked their gardener to prep the lawns ready for their brand new Croquet set to be put in place.

Croquet dates back to the 16th Century some say…

This old lawn sport dates back to 16th Century as Historians have found paintings of people enjoying the game though it was not referred to as croquet. In 1900 the Olympic games that year hosted 3 croquet competitions with seven men and three women competing. With this being the year of the Olympics we thought it would be a great way to celebrate a traditional Olympic sport on the Inn on the Lake’s beautifully landscaped 15 acres gardens, overlooking the beautiful lake Ullswater.  At the end the match celebrate with a refreshing cocktail in the newly refurbished Lake View Lounge or afternoon tea on the lawn. 

Garden Games Ltd kindly supplied us with a top of the range Croquet set for our guest to take the challenge of The Inn on the Lake’s mini Olympics.
