A fun weekend at the Keswick Jazz Festival!

New Orleans came to Cumbria last week as Keswick’s annual feast of traditional and mainstream jazz hit the town, showcasing much of Europe’s finest jazz talent. The Skiddaw Hotel was an official venue hosting music for the Keswick Jazz Festival over the weekend in the Greta Suite and Lounge Bar. December Events 2012 at Lake District Hotels

December is an eventful month in the Lake District Hotels group, with many Christmas events taking place at all of our hotels. This includes live music, craft fairs, beer clubs and more. Penrith and Keswick also have regular events, such as traditional Christmas fayres and markets.

Carvetii caffeine boost for coffee morning

We called upon specialist coffee roasters Carvetii Coffee last Thursday, to help give our Skiddaw Hotel coffee morning a caffeine boost. The event was held in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society, who attended the event in abundance and even recruited a new volunteer for the Keswick area as a result!

High quality coffee can be something to savour, and Carvetii’s expert coffee roaster Gareth Kemble kindly showed guests which coffee beans make the perfect brew, and offered them the chance to sample different blends. Sounds like the perfect way to find our which coffee suits your palette best.
