Elf on the Shelf causes mischief at Lake District Hotels

Elf on the Shelf at Lake District Hotels

Elf on the Shelf is a fun family Christmas tradition which began as a children’s book in the US in 2005, telling the story of how Father Christmas sends an elf to check whether children are being “naughty or nice”. This has led on to children around the world going crazy for Elf on the Shelf; the book comes with a elf puppet which allows the parents to recreate the story in their own homes, by placing the elf in different locations in the house every night from the 1st December right up until Christmas Eve.

The Elf on the Shelf phenomenon is continuing to spread, and at Lake District Hotels we wanted to have a little bit of fun with this well-loved Elf. From the 1st – 24th December look out for a daily picture on our facebook page of Elf on the Shelf causing mischief at one of our hotels; Inn on the Lake in Glenridding, the Lodore Falls Hotel and the Borrowdale Hotel in Borrowdale, Inn on the Square, the Skiddaw Hotel and the Kings Arms Hotel in Keswick, and the George Hotel in Penrith – www.facebook.com/LakeDistrictHotels

Leah Davies, Marketing Manager at Lake District Hotels commented, “we’ve had great fun taking pictures and making a video of Elf on the Shelf around our seven hotels, my two favourite pictures are of Elf falling in love with one of the hotels festive ornaments and when Elf met Olaf from Frozen.

You can see a different picture of Elf on the Shelf on our facebook page every day leading up to Christmas, it’s a bit of festive fun for our guests to try and guess which hotel Elf is causing mischief in.”
