“Proposing can be very daunting” says Gary Wilson, general manager at the Inn on the Lake, one of the most popular wedding venues in the Lake District, “but we’ve come up with some quirky ways to  help the ladies ask the question in a memorable way. I’ve seen nearly 200 proposals during my 16 years at Inn on the Lake so I’ve got a pretty good idea of how to set the stage!”

1.
Hide the ring somewhere in the grounds of the hotel and lead your man to the area and get him stumble across it.

2.
Book a balcony room and arrange for your man to enjoy a drink on the balcony in the evening. In true Romeo and Juliet style, go outside in to the hotel grounds and call his attention – “Romeo, Romeo, where for art thou Romeo? Will you marry me?

4.
