The award-winning Inn on the Lake in Glenridding is the perfect setting for a glamorous event, set on the shores of Lake Ullswater, with stunning 360 degree views. Each year the hotel hosts an annual charity show with Genevieve of Carlisle in aid of Hospice at Home, this year’s event took place on Thursday 30th April which attracted 64 ladies from various parts of Cumbria.

On Saturday 25th April a group of Harley Davidson enthusiasts visited the George Hotel, using the hotel as a base for touring the Lakes. The Harley owners group ‘Aire Valley UK’ was formed in 1997 and has approximately 300 members who like riding their bikes and having fun.
We are delighted to introduce Mark Harris, the new Head Chef at the award-winning 2 AA Rosette Inn on the Lake in Ullswater. Mark has been part of our team since February and has put his own spin on the menu, by introducing new creative and inspirational dishes. A few new favourites on the A la Carte menu to try are West Coast White Crab with daikon radish, cucumber, caviar and young shoots; or for dessert, Mark’s Chocolate Dome with tapioca, mocha mousse, peanut butter crumb is to die for.
With the cricket season about to kick off, Lake District Hotels is proud to offer their support for a second year running to Keswick Cricket Club, as the clubs main sponsor. Both parties see the sponsorship arrangement as being a mutually beneficial one and last summer Dani Hope (Marketing Director for Lake District Hotels) leant a hand at the opening ceremony of their new £16,000 practice net area, by cutting the tape, along with Henri Olonga (former Zimbabwe test cricketer).
April’s Recipe of the Month comes from the George Hotel’s Sous Chef, John Lennon. John has created the perfect plum pudding recipe, which is easy to follow at home to impress your dinner guests. The combination of the fruit and spices works brilliantly, there’s nothing like a bit of spice to brighten up a fruit pudding… Go on give it a go!
