Landscape Photographer of the Year 2014 returns to the Inn on the Lake

Award-winning photographer Mark Littlejohn scooped top prizes at a prestigious national landscape competition in 2014. The Landscape Photographer of the Year competition is run by Take a View, who worked in association with Visit Britain. Mark, from Penrith, beat thousands of photographers at the competition, walking away with the winning title and £10,000 for his image “A Beginning and an End”. The image was taken in Glencoe and described by the judges as “a fleeting moment of beauty” in the Scottish Highlands. Mark also had two images, “Wall Holm Island” and “Deepdale” highly commended by the judges and one commended.

Mark, a former detective now retired, works part-time on Ullswater Steamers and concentrates the rest of his time on his true passion for photography. Mark holds various photography workshops throughout the year, with one of his favourite locations being the Inn on the Lake, Glenridding. Mark will be returning to the Inn on the Lake to run his workshops on Friday 30th & Saturday 31st January, as well as Friday 6th & Saturday 7th March.

Marks photography workshops have inspired many to look deep into their creative side, allowing them to take a picture during the course that they can print and hang on the wall and feel proud to have taken. Mark commented, “The Inn on the Lake is a bonny spot, when taking photographs in Ullswater I realise how lucky I am to work in such a stunning area and to live where I do. We cover all aspects of landscape photography in Ullswater, as it is one of the most beautiful places in England with magnificent views of the Lake District.”

The Inn on the Lake is the ideal location for a one day workshop, as after a hard day of creativity you can then relax in front of cosy fires, dine in the award winning 2 AA Rosette Lake View restaurant, before retiring to a comfortable, newly refurbished fell view bedroom.

The two night dinner, bed & breakfast package is £285pp and includes tea and scones on arrival, a welcome meeting with Mark Littlejohn with cocktails & canapés and photography workshop on the Saturday, with pack luncheon.
