The George Hotel gets a little bit silly all in the name of charity
Did you know… Since 1980 Children in Need has raised over £840 million to help disadvantaged children and young people around the UK. This is an outstanding amount of money, which has been generated with the help of organisations and individuals completing once in a lifetime challenges to raise money for this worthy cause.
Dave Hobson, General Manager at the George Hotel has taken on his own challenge of doing something outrageous and a little bit silly to raise money for Children in Need. Whilst most people enjoy their baked beans on toast, Dave has nominated himself to sit in a bath tub full of freezing cold baked beans for half an hour.
Dave commented, “We all have something we’re good at, or something we’ve always fancied doing and for me, doing something a little bit crazy for charity has always been top of the list. It was an off the cuff idea that got the thumbs up from our staff and escalated from there.”
“Pioneer Food Services have kindly donated 12 large tins of baked beans and we are expecting lots of visitors and locals popping in on the day to pay their donation to cover me in cold baked beans.”
Come and support General Manager, Dave…
…as he takes on a bath of cold baked beans to raise money for Children In Need, on Friday 18th November at 11am in the lounge area of the George Hotel in Penrith.
