Rambler’s Bar has a great following, being a handy place to refuel on a walk or simply relax and enjoy a hearty supper. It was updated last spring, but there’s now even more news to announce. On the 27th May the covers are off and our brand new extension opens; an impressive 60 seater restaurant.
We’ve invested a huge amount of effort to create a very flexible, multi-function space including banquet style dining and its own bar, linked to ‘Ramblers Bar’, the combined facilities cater for 150 guests.
Christened ‘The Candleroom’, it’s a bright and lofty space with oak floors, open truss oak beams, a glass front overlooking the dramatic fells and a decking area. Ambiance (candle light) and adaptability mean space can easily be changed from dining to entertaining, perfect for themed events and weddings too.

Things are starting to take shape in the lead up to the opening, staff and visitors are excited to see inside and there’s a real buzz around the place, our new staff uniforms have arrived today and Rambler’s Bar is due to re-open on the 27th May.
Next week sees the arrival of our new stylish carpets, our chunky, character-oak topped tables with painted pedestals and a mixture of woven leather and incredibly comfortable chairs, that have been carefully selected to compliment the interior of the Candleroom, perfect for long, lingering lunches and dinners!
Three bespoke 2m high pendant ceiling lights have now been installed and look fantastic, along with the wall lights and wallpaper in the snug, with the banquet seating to follow which will be fitted along two of the walls, making for a cosy and intimate dining area… Watch this space for further updates!
