Tanya Sentance, Sales Manager at the Lodore Falls hotel said “It was fun to dress the Garden Suite in such a dramatic way. We had black and white candles and table décor; people really got into the spirit of the theme. Everyone was very generous, the atmosphere was fantastic and we were thrilled to raise so much for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research – it is such a worthwhile cause and one close to our hearts because our General Manager Stephen Johnson, lost his bother to the terrible disease earlier this year.”

Charity ball at Lodore Falls Hotel raises thousands ….

The ‘Night with the Stars’ Charity Ball held at the Lodore Falls Hotel on Friday Night (15th October) was  a great success, raising over £3,000 for charity.

It was great to see so many local people get into the swing of the event, with sequins, beads, diamante  and diamonds adding a great deal of sparkle.  The paparazzi were there, clicking cameras and rolling with TV film – and we were also delighted to see Cumbria Life Photographer Jenny Woolgar taking pictures of local guests.

Giving their support at the event were the ‘Borrowdale Boys” – local farmers who produce so many of the great ingredients used in local dishes.

The glamorous six course dinner was created by Head Chef Mike Ward. He themed each course around Hollywood stars and included ‘Elvis’ Love me tender – a  mouth-watering trio of beef lamb and pork fillet medallions.

Thanks to everyone who took part, buying raffle tickets and bidding in the auction to increase our charity funds for Keswick Mountain Rescue and North West Air Ambulance.

This is just one in a series of events planned at the Lodore Falls Hotel in Borrowdale. Coming up shortly is a Nutcracker Afternoon Tea with ballet performance and Cinderella pantomime just before Christmas. For information about tickets and other events coming up, please contact Tanya Sentance on 017687 77285 or email tanya@lodorefallshotel.co.uk
