Fashion show flair served with lunch for local ladies
The Inn on the Lake played host to ladies from Lancashire and the Lake District at a luncheon attended by over 90 guests who enjoyed a three course lunch and fashion show.
The event was organized in conjunction with Hilary Cookson from the renowned dress shop Maureen Cookson at Whalley in Lancashire and Lancashire Magazine. Whilst there were a number of ladies from Lancashire and beyond, there were also tables of local ladies from Cockermouth, Patterdale and Penrith.
The fashion show was presented by Hilary Cookson who owns the fashion house. She entertained guests during the fashion show by recanted humorous tales of fashion faux pas and highlighting the new range of clothing for the autumn which this year, included a mix of practical and glamorous outfits for a range of ages and sizes.
General Manager Gary Wilson said “This is the third year our hotel group has worked with Maureen Cookson – and it is the second year here at the Inn on the Lake – it was good to see new faces from outside the Lake District experience what we have to offer.”
Head Chef Frazer Soutar was congratulated on his menu by many of the guests who enjoyed the delicious Crab and Lobster Tian starter followed by local lamb. But the star of the menu was the Iced Raspberry and Elderberry Parfait with Mascapone Ice cream that stole the show.
