Lake District Hotels are proud to be the main sponsor for Taste Cumbria in Keswick

Lake District Hotels are proud to be the main sponsor of the Taste Cumbria Food Festival, which is being held for the first time in Keswick on Easter Sunday and Monday, 27 & 28 March.

The event is also supported by Allerdale Borough Council and Geraud Markets Ltd and has been organised in a bid to boost local businesses in an area worst hit by the December floods. The festival will feature a giant market with more than 50 traders selling food, drink and kitchenwares, plus family activities and hot food to eat at the festival.

Dani Hope, Marketing Director for Lake District Hotels, said: “We’re excited to be the main sponsor of the Taste Cumbria Food Festival in Keswick. We feel that this is a positive event to come to Keswick – it’s just what the town needs to boost visitor numbers at this time of year.”

Marie Whitehead, Director of CN Events, said: “We are so pleased that Lake District Hotels have agreed to be the key sponsor of Taste Cumbria in Keswick, and for the support that Allerdale Borough Council and Geraud Markets. Lake District Hotels are a company which is embedded in this area and the team know the value of attracting new audiences to this beautiful part of the country.

“Economic development is a priority for Allerdale Borough Council. They have seen the benefits of Taste Cumbria in Cockermouth – in 2015 it attracted around 40,000 people to the town and brought an estimated £2,983,531 into the local economy – so it is great to have their support for this new festival in Keswick. Geraud Markets will also be a great partner for us at this event. They run the weekly markets in Keswick so know the town well, and have the practical expertise to make this event look great and run smoothly.”

Taste Cumbria in Keswick will build on the success of the existing Taste Cumbria events which are held in Cockermouth and Ulverston, and the pop-up food villages which take place at Lowther Show and the Cumberland Show.
