Wine tasting tips #4: The glass half full approach

Although it’s tempting to fit as much wine as you can into your glass after a long day, it’s not always the right way to enjoy it! According to experts, the correct way to serve wine is by only filling up to a third of your glass. Although it might mean a few extra trips to the fridge, it leaves enough room to swirl your wine around the glass letting the flavours develop fully. This also allows you to impress your guests with your new found wine knowledge after taking part in the The Borrowdale Hotel’s famous wine tasting evening!

The Borrowdale Hotel is host to a wine tasting event every Friday at 6pm and there’s a special celebration evening of food and wine from France planned for October. For your chance to learn many more fascinating wine tips from our Master Sommelier Stephen Wilcock and to taste wines from all over the world, make sure you book a table for our next wine tasting evening by calling The Borrowdale Hotel on 017687 77224.
