Pastry Chef

A senior position within the brigade, reporting to the Head and Sous Chef. Taking responsibility for the day to day duties of all aspects of pastry within the kitchen; working closely with the brigade, Restaurant Manager and floor team to ensure smooth food service. Menu development and costing; tasked with providing an appetising modern flavour with the intention of achieving one AA rosette for the ‘Brossen Steakhouse’ Restaurant, leading to us becoming a destination restaurant of choice for the northern Lake District and wider area. Staff training; ensuring consistency of product in your absence.

Maintain and check cleanliness and hygiene, with particular emphasis on maintaining 5 stars for this brand new kitchen. Financially aware, and able to work to GP costs and achieve budget targets. Service with a smile, and personality, is a must; this brand new kitchen is a display kitchen with a service hatch directly into the restaurant, and a full wall of windows close to the pastry section. Ideally you will possess professional Chef experience, preferably in a 1 or 2 Rosette kitchen, be able to show proven experience within a commercial or private venue, and have worked in a similar environment.

Show flair and invention to create unique desserts, a signature afternoon tea, artisan breads and pastries, to a high standard. A broad and exciting role within this growing group of hotels, this is an opportunity to make your mark and for personal growth.

Head Housekeeper

The Head Housekeeper will report to the Deputy General Manager and General Manager. Take responsibility for a small housekeeping team, including in-house laundry, and maintenance. Ensure 4 star standards are implemented and maintained in all 34 of the bedrooms, corridors, public areas, and that the highest standards of cleanliness are present from front door to the Queens Head pub.

Ensure regular deep cleans; scheduled weekly, monthly tasks take place and a preventative and reactive maintenance program is in place. Staff training; both skills training and health and safety training, updated regularly and documented. Staff Rota; ensuring adequate staff daily for the level of business. To be a part of the Duty Manager rota.

Responsible for ordering all bedroom consumables, cleaning supplies and equipment, and laundry chemicals. Knowledge of in-house laundry operation, as well as outside linen service for duvet covers and sheets. Managing and controlling costs of all housekeeping consumables, including laundry A broad and exciting role within this growing group of hotels, offering opportunity for personal growth. Not a role for a first-time housekeeper

At least 1 years Hotel Reception experience.
You will be IT literate and experience using Rezlynx would be an advantage, however full training given.

We are currently looking for a chef de partie with experience. We have a fantastic opportunity for a chef de partie to join their team and work in a busy 4 star hotel.

As chef de partie you will be directed by the Head Chef on a day to day basis. Working alongside a brigade of chefs you must be fully conversant with all matters relating to health & safety as well as all aspects of current food legislation. Ideally you will have at rosette experience & come from a hotel background well versed in Banqueting & fine dining

Reporting into the General Manager you will take responsibility for ensuring the smooth running of the day to day operations of this 69 bedroomed hotel, driving the department managers and motivating, coaching and mentoring the team. You will have previous experience in management with a sound knowledge of food and drink in a similar sized property and be required to manage the hotel in the absence of the General Manager. You will be expected to ensure that guests receive amazing hospitality at all times, that all staff are able to deliver service exceeding guest expectations and enhancing the guest journey at every opportunity.

This beautiful 4 star hotel situated on the shore of Derwent Water is looking to recruit a full-time therapist to work in our busy Elemis beauty salon. Initially this position is to cover maternity leave but could be permanent.

You will be immaculately presented, have excellent command of English, fantastic communication skills and be a great people person. Ideally the successful candidate will be qualified to NVQ Level 3 and have extensive experience in a wide range of body treatments
