New Year Programme 2011

Make this a New Year to remember. Unless you have taken advantage of our special terms and arrived a day or two earlier, then your holiday begins today. Arrive at the hotel to settle into your warm, welcoming room and enjoy tea with scones and cream relaxing by one of our many roaring fires.

Start your evening with an invitation from your host the General Manager and his team to a warm winter Pimms and canapé reception, where you have the opportunity to meet with friends old and new. Then enjoy a fabulous four course candlelit dinner in the Devonshire Restaurant and adjoining Lounges. After your meal you can test your trivia with the first of our quizzes to win great fun prizes.

New Years Eve 2011
Time to brush off the cobwebs and explore the lovely Lake District – but not until you have enjoyed a leisurely Lakeland breakfast! There’s no need to worry about where to eat next - we will provide you with a delicious picnic to enjoy at your leisure – just when you need it. Later on, make your way to beautiful Lake Ullswater where we have chartered a private steamer for your personal enjoyment. Whilst cruising and taking in the breathtaking scenery, enjoy a hot chocolate or mulled wine with delicious festive mince pies. Returning to the hotel you will be served tea and hot buttered crumpets as you warm up by the roaring fire.

Soon it will be time to change into your finery for a unique dining experience and a fabulous night in our magnificent Ballroom. Starting with a six course
sumptuous celebratory dinner a fabulous New Years evening commences and soon after, our resident DJ takes charge with music from past and present – guaranteed to have you dancing into the early hours of the morning.

New Years Day 2012
Don’t hurry down to breakfast if you have had a late night. You can enjoy a Cumbrian Breakfast from 9am - 11am. In the afternoon we invite you to the Devonshire Restaurant where you can enjoy a two course roast lunch in the Devonshire Restaurant, but if fresh air is more to your liking and you prefer to eat al fresco, then why not order a complimentary picnic lunch from reception and set off for a day in the countryside with lunch ‘amongst the hills’. Suggestions for beautiful picnic spots are available from reception. Alternatively join our guided tour of Penrith and take a brisk walk up to Beacon Edge and enjoy the panoramic views.

This evening a fabulous Gala Buffet will be prepared and served to you by our Head Chef and team, after which your presence is requested in the Dappers Bar in time for the New Years Day Quiz (the final), with great prizes to be won, when your knowledge of all things trivial will be tested to the full.

We bid a fond farewell to guests who are leaving us today and hope to welcome you back during 2012. Alternatively, if you wish to extend your break with a
couple of extra days you can take advantage of our special 'stay a little longer' rates.

 

- Children sharing with parents 5 – 12 years £55.00 for 2 nights, £77.00 for 3 nights per child. Children sharing with parents 1 – 4 years £35.00 for 2 nights, £52.00 for 3 nights per child. Children sharing with parents under 1 FREE.
