The George Hotel offers total flexibility when it comes to the menus
and drinks for your special day. Our Head Chef has designed a
selection of tailored menus where each course carefully compliments
the next.
Alternatively create your own menu from the extensive a la carte
selection individually priced to suit your budget. Our Head Chef will
be delighted to discuss any special requirements or personal touches
you would like to add to your menu.
Accomodation
Most of our 35 bedrooms have been carefully refurbished to the highest possible standard and offer all the hallmarks and comfort of a first class hotel.
For that extra special touch why not upgrade to one of our Club Rooms or Suites, which have been tastefully and individually designed and offer towelling robes, trouser presses and other little extras making them a touch more special.

The Georgian Ball Room with its Minstrels Gallery, ornate ceiling and large windows overlooking the town centre of Penrith and the adjoining Regency Bar, have been totally refurbished and offer an unrivalled facility for wedding parties....a truly stunning setting, unique
to the Lake District.
The Ball Room is ideal for themed events and our wedding co-ordinator will be delighted to advise and assist in making all the arrangements with local specialists to make your wedding day memorable from start to finish, ie. festive balloons, colour co-ordinated table linen and flowers, disco and live music, limousine hire and any other special features you may desire.

Civil Wedding Ceremonies
The George Hotel has a civil wedding licence and we have 6 years of experience in carrying out these wonderful ceremonies in line with laid down regulations and licensing requirements, and are happy to describe in detail to the wedding couple the running of a civil wedding.
The ceremony should combine the formal legal elements of a wedding, whilst at the same time ensure that the seating layout, flowers, music and total presentation matches your expectations and requirements. At the George Hotel you can choose to have your civil marriage in 4 different function suites seating up to 120 guests.
