Ring out the old year and welcome in the New at The Inn on the Lake.
We will supply not only a wonderful atmosphere but also exquisite cuisine and a constant supply of pampering. If you are spending Christmas looking after the family and friends this will be your well-deserved chance to relax and enjoy a few days without cooking or washing up.

30th December 2008
Arrive in time for afternoon tea and crumpets served in the Lounge. Settle into your warm and welcoming room and get ready to meet the hotel's General Manager, his team of staff and fellow guests, in the Lounge Bar for a Cocktail and Canapés Reception whilst listening to our resident musician. Dinner will be served in the Lake View Restaurant after which we would like you to join us on a candlelit walk down to Lake Ullswater where a glass of Hot Punch will be served, whilst we enjoy the beauty of the lake and mountain scenery at night.

New Years Eve
Prepare yourself for the forthcoming day and night's celebrations with a hearty Cumbrian breakfast and enjoy a glass of Bucks Fizz to get you in the mood. You may wish to make your way to Aira Force (5 minutes drive from the hotel) to enjoy the spectacular cascading waterfalls, which are among the fi nest in the Lake District, and can be found just a short walk from the car park. In the afternoon you are invited to join a cruise on Lake Ullswater, weather permitting, departing from the
steamer pier (5 minutes walk from the hotel). Whilst on board you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of lake and mountains with a glass of hot mulled wine. Please remember to wrap up warmly.

Following your day out and about it is time to return to the hotel where tea, cream scones and Christmas cake will await you in the Ullswater Lounge. Soon it will be time to prepare yourself for a unique dining experience that is Chefs New Year Gala Dinner and a night of celebration and music in the Lake View Restaurant. During dinner Jackson Martin will entertain you with his fantastic range of magic and slight of hand. After the spectacular Gala Dinner our resident DJ will have you dancing into the early hours and at midnight we welcome in the New Year with a glass of bubbly. Watch out for the Piper, during the course of the evening.

New Years Day
There is no need to hurry down to breakfast if you have had a late night, because today we are serving a Jazz Brunch from 10.30am until around 2pm. Start with a "Pick-me-up Punch" and then choose a delicious breakfast-lunch from the fabulous hot and cold buffet. Relax and recover whilst listening to the wonderful sounds from New Orleans and the
Mississippi who knows it may be difficult staying in your seat and dancing could be an option.

If you feel fresh air is on the agenda then why not meet at reception at 1.30pm where a local guide will take you on a not too strenuous New Years Day walk to a local beauty spot.Your efforts will be rewarded with a picnic amongst the hills what better way to enjoy the first day of the New Year.

Dinner will be served in the Lake View Restaurant after which your presence is requested in the Lounge area for the New Years Day Quiz, where your knowledge of all things trivial will be tested to
the full!

After a full Cumbrian breakfast it is time to say goodbye and wish you a happy and prosperous New Year, we hope you have had a fantastic time and look forward to your company once again in 2009.
