30th December
Arrive in time for afternoon tea and crumpets served in the Lounge. Settle into your warm and welcoming room and get ready to meet the hotel’s General Manager, his team of staff and fellow guests, in the Lounge Bar for a Cocktail and canapés reception. Dinner will be served in the Lake View restaurant.
During dinner our magical magician will entertain you with his fantastic range of magic and sleight of hand. After dinner join us on an enchanting candlelit walk down to Lake Ullswater, weather permitting, where a glass of Mulled Wine will be served, whilst you enjoy the beauty of the lake and mountain scenery at night.
New Years Eve
Prepare yourself for the forthcoming day and night’s celebrations with a hearty Cumbrian breakfast. You may wish to make your way to the waterfalls of Aira Force, or join in our New Year’s Treasure Hunt in the grounds.
In the afternoon you are invited to join a cruise on Lake Ullswater, weather permitting, departing from the steamer pier. Whilst on board you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of lake and mountains with a glass of hot mulled wine. Following your day out and about it is time to return to the hotel where tea, cream scones and Christmas cake will await you in the Lake View lounge.
Soon it will be time for a unique dining experience that is Chef’s New Year Black Tie Gala dinner and a night of celebration and music along with Robin the Cartoonist who will provide you with a unique memento of the occasion. After dinner our resident DJ will have you up on the dance floor and at midnight we welcome in the New Year with a glass of bubbly. Watch out for the Piper, during
the course of the evening.
New Years Day
There is no need to hurry down to breakfast if you have had a late night, because today we are serving a Jazz Brunch from 10am until around 2pm. Start with a “Pick-me-up Punch” and then choose a delicious brunch from the fabulous hot and cold buffet.
Relax and recover whilst listening to the wonderful sounds from New Orleans and the Mississippi – who knows it may be difficult staying in your seat and dancing could be an option.
If you feel fresh air is on the agenda, then why not join our local guide, who will take you on a not too strenuous New Years Day walk to a local beauty spot (weather permitting).
Dinner will be served in the Lake View Restaurant. After dinner, we will host the New Years Day Quiz, where your knowledge of all things trivial will be tested to the full!
2nd January
After breakfast we bid a fond farewell to guests, who are leaving us today and hope to welcome you back during 2013. If you wish to extend your break with a couple of extra days, you can take advantage of our special rates (please see below).
