30th December 2009
A warm welcome awaits you when you arrive at your leisure in the afternoon and settle into your
comfortable accommodation.
Take time out to relax and enjoy the surroundings and unwind after your journey with hot punch or
tea with toasted crumpets served in the lounge. The children will soon find out about their exciting
programme.
In the evening we invite you to join us for the general manager’s welcoming party where you will be
introduced to the senior staff at the Lodore Falls Hotel and a short talk about the forthcoming day’s
entertainment and activities. Following which we proceed to the candlelit lake view restaurant where
dinner will be served. In between courses you will be entertained by both our incredible table magician
and our cartoonist.
After dinner, you can relax in the lounge listening to our musician or you can dress up warm and join us
by the lakeside for a hot drink and roasted chestnuts whilst you admire the surrounding magical scenery.
New Years Eve
Start the day with a hearty breakfast and then relax in the hotel with a swim, a game of tennis or
squash, or you could go out and explore the Lake District by foot or by car. Many walks start from the
hotel’s front door and our porters will be happy to suggest interesting routes - strenuous or not so
strenuous.
A fun treasure hunt has been arranged in the garden and around the Lodore Waterfall with 1st and 2nd prizes.
Don’t forget to bring the children back for the afternoon show by the Wizard of Magic. Afternoon tea
and cream scones are served in the lounge. In the evening a fantastic gala dinner will be served (black
tie is requested) and soon it will be time for dancing. Join us in the Garden Suite where the disco and
the band will entertain you until the wee small hours. On the stroke of Midnight we wish you all a
happy New Year with a glass of Bubbly and encourage you to celebrate for a few more hours.
Watch out for the piper!
New Years Day
Don’t hurry down this morning for breakfast as a Brunch will be available from 10am to 2pm
and with a jazz band entertaining you for a couple of hours - what better way to start a new
year in best New Orleans style.
In the afternoon a guided walk and a launch trip on Derwentwater has been arranged
(please remember warm clothing) and soon an appetite will have been worked up for this
evening’s spectacular Lodore Falls Gala Buffet.
After this gourmet experience it’s time for a bit of excitement Monte Carlo style, when
