CHRISTMAS PROGRAMME 2011
Christmas Eve 2011
If you want to arrive a few days earlier you can take
advantage of our very special rates and extend your
holiday, but if you start your three day break by arriving
on Christmas Eve, save time to settle into your warm,
welcoming room and perhaps explore the pretty market
town of Keswick. During the afternoon, mulled wine
and mince pies will be served in the lounge. Later in
the evening you are invited to join us for a drinks and
canapés reception, when the General Manager will
introduce you to his heads of department and talk a
little about the exciting 3 day programme.
Afterwards make your way to “31 The Square” restaurant where an exquisite and creative dinner will be
prepared by our Head Chef and his brigade. After dinner
take part in a magical, candlelit procession to the shores
of Lake Derwentwater. Enjoy a glass of hot mulled wine
and hot roasted chestnuts as you experience the beauty,
peace and tranquillity of the lake at night. (Warm boots
and jackets recommended!). During the evening don’t
miss the ‘Keswick Churches Together’ Christmas concert
in the Market Square outside the hotel.
Christmas Day 2011
Breakfast on Christmas morning is a leisurely affair. Start your day with a traditional hearty Cumbrian breakfast and why not add a bit of sparkle with a glass of Bucks Fizz. Perhaps Santa will still be about!
Relax and enjoy your morning at your leisure. Open
presents or you could perhaps take a stroll to the lake
and feed the ducks, or wander through the park along
the banks of the river. Whatever you decide to do, you
are guaranteed to be surrounded by the beauty and
seasonal peace of the Lake District in Winter. After the
Lakeland air has stimulated your appetite it will be time
to meet in the Lounge Bar where orders will be taken for
a sumptuous Christmas Day Lunch. Make sure you leave
room for coffee and mince pies and then settle down for
the Queen’s speech at 3pm.
In the evening the bar is open for pre-dinner drinks and
the fabulous ‘Taste of the Lakes and Fells’ buffet will be
served - providing a perfect opportunity for you to taste
some traditional Cumbrian specialities and delicacies
prepared by our Cumbrian born Head Chef. With
relaxation in mind we have prepared a fun Christmas
Quiz to round off the day. With trivia to test everyone, it
is guaranteed to be a fun and entertaining evening.
Boxing Day 2011
A true Cumbrian breakfast will be served to get you going for the day ahead. Enjoy the day as you wish, a walk, a climb or a leisurely look at the sales - with so many shops on our doorstep you might want to start saving now. Finish the day off with a special mouth watering farewell dinner.

For those of our guests, who leave us today, we bid
you a fond farewell and hope you have had a fantastic
Christmas with us. However, if you wish to extend your
break with a few more days, you can take advantage of
our “mid festivities break” rates.
- Children (up to 15 years) in their own room in a family suite.
2 nights £90. 3 nights £120 per child. Children (5 - 12 years)
sharing with parents. 2 nights £55. 3 nights £95 per child. Children
(1 - 4 years). 2 nights £30. 3 nights £49. Under 1 year no charge.
- All prices are per person, based on 2 people sharing a room and
include all meals and entertainment as described.
- A non-refundable deposit of £200.00 per person is required to confirm a booking with the balance paid before 1st December 2011.
