Summer solstice adventure grows in popularity thanks to Google

Our annual Summer Solstice guided walk to the ancient Castlerigg Stone Circle has steadily grown in popularity over the last 4 years, thanks to the help of Google. We first introduced the walk with the aim to offer our visitors the chance to see the Lake District in a new light, whilst celebrating the longest day of the year.

SUMMER SOLSTICE →

This special occasion has been celebrated for centuries, with 1000’s of worshipers, revellers and curious visitors making their way to prehistoric monuments, such as Stonehenge to set up camp, party, carry out sunrise meditation and inspirational talks, to celebrate good vibes and the summer sun!

Summer Solstice 2015 at Castlerigg Stone Circle

Last year the trip from Keswick’s market square to the Castlerigg Stone Circle included Americans and a gentleman who Googled something to do on the solstice and travelled from as far as London! It’s an early 3am start, and when you arrive you’ll be greeted by our very own Druid Shaman “Call of the wild” and the ancient Druid ritual that welcomes the sun. Afterwards, enjoy a hot breakfast of porridge, sausage and bacon sandwiches with lashings of sauce, and warming tea and coffee.
