Fern Britton enjoys a well-deserved rest at the George Hotel
On Sunday 10th May the George Hotel, Penrith received a very special visitor… when Fern Britton popped in, along with a group of cyclists who were participating in the Fern Britton #Challenge57. The #Challenge57 is a unique adventure, where anyone can join in and cycle with Fern from John O’Groats to Land’s End to raise funds to help Genesis Research Trust put a end to miscarriages.
This epic 1000 mile bike ride sweeps through some of the UK’s most beautiful scenery. Covering the length of the British Isles from the wilds of Scotland through the dramatic landscape of the Lake District, Cotswolds and Dartmoor to the leafy lanes of Cornwall, it really is a ride of contrasts. Participants can choose to cycle the whole way, one of the six stages or for a single day. The challenge started on the 1st May from John O ’ Groats and will end in Lands End on the 21st May, with the cyclists cycling approx. 60 miles per day.
Fern chatted with some of our staff at the George Hotel and stated “I try to participate in a bike ride every year, although this is the first one that I’ve done in the UK and I’m loving the scenery in the Lake District”
