Burns Night is the time to don the kilt, dust off the bottle of whisky and sample a little haggis… and with the help of over 50 visitors and guests, the Borrowdale Hotel has once again hosted a fabulous Burns Supper in honour of the Scottish poet Robert Burns.
Burns Night is celebrated across the world each year on the anniversary of Robert Burns birth and was originally set up by some of his close friends a few years after his death. The traditional Burns Supper consists of Haggis, neeps and tatties, whisky, singing, dancing and pipers. We didn’t have the singing and dancing at the Borrowdale Hotel’s Burns Night, however there was a delicious 4 course menu featuring authentic Scottish produce, plenty of whisky and not to mention a live bag piper!
