Dalemain Marmalade Awards 2016

The 2016 Dalemain Marmalade Awards have proved to be another fantastic year for marmalade, with higher standards and tastier marmalade than ever and over 2000 home-made entries. The judges have busy posting out mark cards for every entry and certificates for all the winners. Everyone who entered should have receive their scores & judges feedback by now.

From our Lake District Hotels group the following marmalade entries were submitted into the Hotel, B&B and Restaurant category:

Kings Arms Hotel Blood Orange and Pepper
LB’s Pizza House – Blood Orange & Fig
The Skiddaw Hotel – Dark Brown Sugar, Orange & Whisky
The Borrowdale Hotel – Carrot & Orange
Inn on the Lake – Community Spirit Marmalade

This particular award category helps assist marmalade enthusiasts to locate the best B&B’s, hotels and restaurants serving the best marmalade. We have now received our score cards and are happy to announce that we have received four ‘Commended’ awards for the Skiddaw Hotel, LB’s Pizza House the Borrowdale Hotel and the Inn on the Lake’s entries.

Chris Morris, Junior Sous Chef from the Skiddaw Hotel and Luke Morris, Commis Chef at LB’s Pizza House are cousins and both parties claimed a ‘Certificate of Merit’ Commended Award… their love of marmalade must run in the family.
