Employees across the Lake District Hotels group had that festive feeling on Friday 13th December 2019 when we each traded our usual work attire for Christmas jumpers!
A number of staff from a whole array of different departments across our hotels donned their feelgood festive jumpers for national Christmas Jumper Day.
This annual celebration has turned into a day of giving, in which people across the nation get into the act of giving and help spread true Christmas cheer by raising money for good causes.
A time for giving…
We wanted to take this fun opportunity to help raise money for our charity of the year, Keswick Scouts, in which we intend to generate enough funds to assist with the complete refurbishment of Ashness Hut.
Every team member that wore their Christmas jumper donated £2 to this excellent cause, and our Directors also contributed an additional £5 per each staff member who took part. In total, we managed to raise an incredible total of £218… Not a bad effort for a day of festive fun!
“At Christmas time, we love getting into the festive spirit and having fun. Friday was a great day for all the staff and they certainly put a big smile on our guests’ faces.” – Dani Hope, Lake District Hotels Director
Dressed to the nines
Staff were able to wear their Yuletide apparel from the crack of dawn until 5pm in the evening. The hotels who took part in the festivities were: the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa, Borrowdale Hotel, Inn on the Lake & the Skiddaw Hotel. The hotel’s Central Reservations Office also came out in force in their impressive Christmas knits.
We saw a range of incredible Christmas attire worn on the day, from snuggly snowman knits & festive footie jumpers to Santa swing-dresses and holly jolly t-shirts.
