There was great excitement at the Inn on the Lake on Sunday night (30th November) when pupils from Patterdale School and children from Glenridding came to celebrate the switch-on of the Christmas lights.
The child with the most ‘star awards’ was Molly from Glenridding, who got to push the plunger with Santa and light up the hotel. The switch-on officially marks the start of the festive season at the Inn on the Lake, with Christmas lunches, dinners and festive afternoon tea’s on the menu.
The evening was toasted with Mulled wine (or squash), along with mince pies, jelly and ice cream and much, much more. Afterwards the children could enjoy music and dancing in Ramblers Bar and a special gift from Santa.
