Downton style afternoon tea at the Borrowdale Hotel is back by popular demand. After the success of last year’s Downton style afternoon tea and with the new series in full flow, the Borrowdale Hotel wanted to give their guests the chance to star in their own version of Downton Abbey.

If watching this award-winning show makes you wish you were having afternoon tea in a magnificent stately home, then wish no more… The menu has been designed to reflect the home cooking of the time for different social classes. For the Lord Crawleys among us: smoked-salmon pinwheels, chocolate-dipped éclairs and madeleines; while those hankering for below-stairs pleasures can scoff scones, lemon curd and bread pudding.

Costumed wait staff will be stepping back in time every Friday and Saturday, from the 3rd October to 20th December to serve their quintessentially Downton Afternoon Tea on an array of delicate china.
