Jonathon, Wedding Manager
Jonathon has worked with us for over 9 years. He credits his love for the job to the beautiful surroundings of the hotel and hardworking team: “I love working in one of the most beautiful hotels in Cumbria, if not the UK, and supporting the bride and groom along the way. I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of so many special moments, including getting to see a bride’s father who beat the odds to come to her wedding while in remission.”
Jonathon’s Top Tip: “Don’t worry about the weather! Come rain or shine we are prepared for your big day.”
Teresa, Sales Manager
Teresa has also been with us for 9 years, where she has helped with many bride and grooms special days. Her passion for the hotel helps her in every step of the process. Her favourite part is to see the bride come down the stairs on the morning of the wedding: “I love to see a beautifully radiant bride in her lovely dress. This first look is a very special moment both for family and the staff!”
Teresa’s Top Tip:“Enjoy it and don’t be afraid to ask questions. We have set up a private wedding group on Facebook which is useful to get advice, share stories and ask questions.”
Thomas, Assistant Manager
Having been with us since he was 15, Thomas has become a vital part of the wedding team. “The hotel is made up of one big family with many years of service, on an average day you could find in excess of 50 years loyal service”. Our staff are always on hand to help with any issues or last minute needs. “When any family comes together from every corner of the country they may forget essentials for the big day. I often find myself running round the shops sourcing items for guests or last minute gifts for the groom to give to his bride!”
Thomas’ Top Tip: “Sit back, relax and let the team here at the hotel organise your special day. Call the hotel and ask as may questions as you like we are always here to help and have a dedicated team in the office seven days a week.”
Kerri, Wedding Administrator
Kerri is a testament to the family feel of the hotel having been with us for over 14 years and is confident that this ethos allows couples to feel relaxed and confident in preparation for their big day. She has had many highlights over the years however one of her favourite parts of any wedding is the guest’s reception of the bride as she walks down the aisle “. I see so many different emotions and everyone is so different, but it’s wonderful to see such raw emotion in that moment.”
Kerri’s Top Tip:“Try and avoid getting involved in the accommodation side of things and let your guests book their own accommodation. Our dedicated reservations team are available seven days a week by email or phone to help your guest’s book at the best rate!”
Gary, General Manager
With over 20 years’ experience at Inn on the Lake, Gary understands the importance of the smooth running of any wedding day. His favourite moment was seeing a bride’s best friend turning up last minute having left hospital to attend the big day. “Providing the joy that comes with running one of the most important days of a couple’s life is the best part of working on weddings here at the hotel!”
Gary’s Top Tip: “Stay calm, trust the venue and call us if you have any doubts about the running of the day.”
