Patterdale School lights up the Inn on the Lake

Inn on the Lake Christmas Light Switch On

There was great excitement at the Inn on the Lake on Sunday 29th November, when pupils from Patterdale School and children from Glenridding came to help Santa switch-on of the Christmas lights.

From the start of September, the pupils of Patterdale School are rewarded with a star of the day and the child with the most ‘star awards’ is then selected to push the plunger with Santa and light up the hotel. This year Santa had two helpers, Antony and Hollie who both received the same amount of stars.

Gary Wilson, General Manager at the Inn on the Lake, commented “The light switch-on marks the start of our festive season, with Christmas lunches, dinners and festive afternoon tea’s on the menu. It’s a really fun evening, with mulled wine (or squash), mince pies, jelly and ice cream and much, much more. Afterwards the children have fun dancing and even get a special gift from Santa.”
