The sun was shining down on Hope Park today as crowds gathered for the 2014 Keswick Tourism Association and Keswick in Bloom awards. From Lake District Hotels, the Lodore Falls Hotel had been put forward in the ‘Large Hotel’ garden award, along with the Queens Head Bar for ‘Pub’ garden of the year award.

The winners were announced and for the fourth year in a row The Lodore Falls Hotel has retained the title as winner of Keswick in Bloom Award, and it’s all down to our hardworking gardeners! The award for best large hotel garden was awarded to head gardener John Curran.

John and gardener Declan Robinson both do a fantastic job of looking after the Lodore Falls gardens, and a big congratulations goes out to the pair from the staff and management at the Lodore Falls Hotel.

New to the Lake District Hotels group is the Queens Hotel and Queens Head Bar, who joined the group in April 2014. With the Queens Head Bar put forward for the ‘Pub’ of the year award, it was a great honour for head gardener Kevin O’Brien to collect the award. Kevin was congratulated by the Queens Hotel General Manager, Mark Webster along with the rest of the staff and management from the Queens Hotel and Queens Head Bar.
