After over a year of being closed, LB’s Pizza House in Keswick is back with a vengeance, as the town’s original pizzeria is set to once again open its doors on Friday 11th June with a specially designed new menu in force.
A friendly bit of competition…
To celebrate the long-awaited reopening and create a bit of excitement on social media, we took to the group’s Instagram page to enlist the help of our customers to design a new pizza to be featured on LB’s summer menu. Customers each got to submit their own pizza designs which came through to the Lake District Hotels’ Instagram page for us to scrutinise.
A whole range of Instagram users submitted their unique pizza suggestions, from the traditionally Italian to the outright bizarre. Just some of our favourite designs included a ‘Breakfast Pizza‘ which essentially consisted of a fry-up atop of a pizza & a ‘Hot Herdy‘ made with spicy, local lamb!
Once entries were collected, Lake District Hotels’ Executive Head Chef, Mark Harris, whittled down the list to 8 finalists whose designs inspired him the most.
When the final 8 had been selected and approved, each pizza design was pitted head-to-head against one another in a series of Instagram polls that ran on the Lake District Hotels Instagram story. Users were invited to select their favourite pizza creations over a succession of days and the pizza that came out triumphant in the votes was:
‘San Marzano Tomato, Mozzarella, Nduja, Burrata, drizzle of Chilli Oil & Honey’.
The victorious pizza, entitled ‘Fan Flavour’ on LB’s new summer menu, was designed by Charlotte Watson from Sheffield. As a reward, Charlotte won 10 free pizzas to enjoy at the venue, meaning she is able to come see her creation brought to life and actually taste the tempting flavours for herself.

The restaurant which is overseen by Italian head chef, Fabio Ricchieri, serves an impressive range of traditional stone-baked pizzas and wholesome pasta dishes inspired from the chef’s hometown of Frassinelle Polesine which is close to the city of Venice.
Fabio, is a natural when it comes to the art of pizza-making and spent years perfecting his recipe during his time working in some of the finest Italian restaurants in Venice, Rovigo, Ferrara, Sydney, Bahrain and London.
Fabio’s secret sourdough pizza base recipe is second to none, providing you with the most extraordinary dining experience this side of the Colosseum.

LB’s Pizza House located in the Kings Arms Courtyard just off Keswick’s Market Square will be open every Wednesday to Sunday from 12pm-10pm.
Takeaways are also available from our Keswick pizzeria on these days from 5pm each evening.
