Spring Romance in the Lake District

Colourful… Precious… Guaranteed to make you smile! Lose yourself in the beauty of spring in the Lake District. The fells are aflutter with bluebells and a host of golden daffodils, where could be more romantic than the Lake District in spring? We’ve listed below a few of our favourite romantic things to do in the Lakes.

Enjoy a drive along the shores of Ullswater and soak up the scenery before enjoying a  spot of lunch or a delicious afternoon tea at Inn on the Lake. This short clip below shows off the Inn on the Lake, with its picture perfect backdrop of Ullswater.

Set the alarm early and head for the shores of Derwentwater, if you are lucky you could experience a colourful first light sky like the below.

Travel to the Borrowdale Valley to climb Catbells made famous by the Tales of Miss Tiggywinkle, then stop for a bar meal and a pint of real ale at the Borrowdale Hotel.

Keswick is England’s walking capital, with a host of ‘Wainwrights’ on the doorstep and is still a favourite for the less energetic with Victorian parks and lakeside ambles.  Central to life in this pretty market town is the Skiddaw Hotel, perfectly located and serving delicious food all day.  Next door is the Kings Arms, a 17th century coaching inn that has welcomed visitors with a great pint and hearty food for over 400 years. It would be hard to find anywhere more welcoming.
