Lakes Culture Ignite 2016

Lakes Culture Ignite 2016

Seven Nocturnal Rainbows for the English Lakes… The brainchild of renowned contemporary artist Charles Monkhouse, Seven Nocturnal Rainbows is an elaborate art installation taking place on seven nights throughout the Lake District, visiting Glenridding from 3rd – 4th May on the Glencoyne Bay in Ullswater.

Inspired by a diverse range of poets and artists, the Rainbow is part of the annual ‘Lakes Ignite’ festivities; an annual celebration of expression encompassing music, literature, art and comedy- all inspired by the surrounding scenery.

Made up of 250 floating LED lights, each Rainbow experience will be a completely unique display of vibrant beauty lasting up to 90 minutes, designed to tease the senses and spark the imagination.

Throughout the event pop into the Inn on the Lake and enjoy our special offers…

Rainbow Sunset Cocktail
white rum, orange juice, blue curacao and grenadine £7.25

Get a FREE Rocket Ice-Lolly with every Children’s meal

Due to the use of GPS sensors, the weather conditions on the evening of the display will directly influence the rich spectrum of observable colour and their intricate patterning, creating seven truly magical, one of a kind experiences.
