The Lodore Falls Hotel lights up the valley

Last night (Monday 13th November) pupils from the Borrowdale School joined us at the Lodore Falls Hotel to light up the valley, at our annual Christmas light switch on. The children and parents enjoyed mulled wine (juice for the children) and mince pies in our brand-new function suite prior to the light switch.

Each year, the children take part in a ‘design a Christmas card competition’ which is then judged by the Lodore Falls Hotel General Manager, Matt Collins. A lucky winner is selected from each age category, who then get to help Matt switch on the stunning Christmas lights.

The winners:
Maisey Joubert  from reception
Poppy Welch from key stage 1
Eliza Karolyn Howath from key stage 2
Nell Hartley from key stage 3

The Christmas light switch on is one of the highlights of the year, it’s a truly magical evening for everyone that’s involved. This year we had a surprise visit from Santa, who was waiting on one of the balconies to surprise the children when the lights went on.

The switch on officially marks the start of the festive season at the Lodore Falls and it’s great to see many locals joining us. Our festive menus are launched, our decorations are up, and there’s all sorts of exciting festive events coming up. To check out our full events list click the below tab…
