If you are planning a wedding in the Lake District, the one thing you cannot guarantee is the weather. It can be very unpredictable, and has been known to shower us with four different seasons all in one day! But even on a wet day the Lake District’s beauty manages to shine through.
Throughout the month of May we were blessed with glorious sunshine, and after a couple of stormy days in June we’ve got our fingers crossed that the sunshine will return and stay for the rest of the Summer. From our experience of living and working in the Lake District, the one thing that you can predict is a sunny month in May, and in our opinion it’s the perfect time to set the date for your white wedding.
This May, 95% of the happy couples that said ‘I Do’ at the Inn on the Lake, have done so in our lovely Lakeside Gazebo, with Ullswater as a stunning backdrop.

We received a visit from Deadpool & Chewbacca on the 12th May at Anne & David’s wedding, while their son dressed as Darth Vader and the other children dressed as super heroes and Disney princesses.
On top of this two individual weddings had their rings delivered by owls, while the Opera duo Belle Voci (finalists on The Voice UK) surprised Lucie & Alison’s wedding guests with a 30 minute performance on the Lakeside terrace, singing alongside Classic Ensembles.
Then to finish this beautiful month off, the rhododendron plant made for an eye-catching and attractive walkway to the Lake shore, with delicate pink blooms that made a welcoming addition to Daniel & Becky’s wedding on Saturday 26th May.
