National Christmas Jumper Day took place on Friday 16th December; it’s that time of year when people everywhere get in on the act, to wear their festive jumper and raise money for charity. On this day Lake District Hotels joined in the festive fun by encouraging their employees to replace their uniforms for the day with fun, pretty, hilarious, grim, goofy, but very Christmassy jumpers, all in aid of our 2016 Charity of the year, Amy’s Care.
From breakfast to 6 pm these jumpers could be seen at the Lodore Falls Hotel in Borrowdale, the Inn on the Lake in Glenridding, the Skiddaw Hotel, the Inn on the Square in Keswick, and the George Hotel in Penrith.
Directors of Lake District Hotels donated £5 for every staff member that came to work in their festive jumper; and an amazing total of 77 jumpers made an appearance, generating a total of £385 for Amy’s Care.
Dani Hope, Marketing Director for Lake District Hotels commented, “At Christmas time, we love getting into the festive spirit and having fun. Friday was a great day for all the staff and they certainly put a big smile on our guest’s faces. As an incentive for our staff to wear their jumpers to work, Cranston’s of Penrith generously donated a £50 gift bag full of yummy local treats, which was then presented to our Interior Designer, Mike Fac for having the best Christmas jumper.”
It is always a great day when everybody is dressed up in their festive attire, and the charity element ensured another great turnout of jumpers this year. A big thank you to all staff who participated this year and hearty congratulations to Mike Fac pictured above on the best jumper of the day. See below for even more cracking Christmas jumpers:
