As we look ahead, there’s a variety of exciting events and activities to look forward to this autumn and winter. Our popular ‘Fish Fridays’ are back; the Tour of Britain will return to the Lake District on the 6th and 7th September, you can catch live streamed opera and ballet at the local cinema and the famous Theatre by the Lake autumn performances include ‘Beauty & The Beast’. We like to make sure our rooms are as up to date as possible, and this winter will see four first floor rooms receive a full make over in time for Christmas. We also like our bedrooms to have the best beds which are highly praised by our guests. We work with internationally acclaimed local bed company Sealy Beds to ensure our guests have a great night’s sleep.

16th September – Borrowdale Show
Borrowdale Show attracts visitors and locals alike with its range of stalls, sheep shows, sheep dog & hound trails as well as the Borrowdale Fell Race…. Why not stop by the hotel for a pot of tea and a slice of Borrowdale tea bread for £4.95
11th November – Remembrance Sunday
Every year a service is held on the summit of Great Gable and Castle Crag. Set aside part of your day to participate in this walk and remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today, then sit back, relax and indulge in a delicious afternoon tea or Sunday lunch at the Borrowdale Hotel.

A great way to start the weekend… Every Friday from 12noon find a selection of fresh fish on our menu. This will change every week but the old favourites like fish and chips will always be there.
