Vic Reeves has just enjoyed a stay in our new four-star hotel with his wife Nancy Sorrell and their twin daughters. The Inn on the Square came to Vic’s rescue by offering two luxury bedrooms after he’d been washed out camping in the Borrowdale Valley.
At Lake District Hotels our staff love living and working in the Adventure Capital of the UK, so it seemed only fitting to take part in the Total Warrior 2015 event. 12 staff members from across our hotel group joined forces to take on the 10k race of endless hills, rivers, mud (tonnes of it!), woodland, rugged Lake District terrain and 30 obstacles, which took place on Saturday 1st August.
From having one of the UK’s top 10 towns to hosting some of the best festivals around it’s clear to us that the northern Lake District is a winner, but to prove a point here are our top ten reasons why we think the North Lakes is better than the South Lakes… What do you think? The management and staff at the Inn on the Square in Keswick are celebrating, following a recent AA Inspection which awarded the new hotel with a four star accolade as well as a rosette for the food in Brossen Steakhouse. The award comes just six weeks after the hotel opened its doors after it underwent a complete renovation which saw the hotel close for eight months.
Lake District Hotels Ltd are in their second year of sponsorship of Keswick Cricket Club and each year look forward to their annual match against them, as with any business deals there needs to be a little bit of fun included. In 2014 Lake District Hotels stole the show by winning the game with the last run, so this year the pressure was really on to keep hold of the Cup trophy, and Keswick Cricket Club had come well prepared by fielding a much stronger team.
