Refurbishment Update – Phase 1 of the Lodore Falls Hotel

As some of you may know, the Lodore Falls Hotel closed its doors on Tuesday 3rd January to undergo a complete ground floor renovation; the project is set to take six weeks to complete, with the hotel planning to reopen mid-February. Every part of the ground floor will go through a complete transformation, from the hotel entrance, bar, reception, Lake View restaurant, corridors, toilets, function room to the kitchen.

Phase 1 of the project has seen the removal of the ground floor furniture, fittings and fixtures, the carpets are up and some of the walls have been demolished, making parts of the hotel unrecognizable, unveiling bits of history from the Lodore Falls. The work is being carried out by local tradesman who have worked with the Lake District Hotels Group for many years, some of which have been with the group from the early 1980’s.

Kit Graves (Director of Lake District Hotels) and Dani Hope (Marketing Director of Lake District Hotels) have been steering the design and look of the interiors; with Mike Fac, the hotel groups Interior Designer and Matt Collins, General Manager of the Lodore Falls both assisting with the project management of the first phase.

The new look of the Lodore Falls Hotel will be a defining moment in the history of the hotel. The Lodore’s comfort, warmth and elegance which our loyal guests have come to expect, will have a great presence in a brand-new, up-to-date design throughout the ground floor of the hotel. We’ve handpicked all the interiors, using as many British manufacturers as possible including the carpets, tables, lighting as well as a family-owned English company that have made our new sofas. Come and try them for yourself when the hotel reopens in mid-February.

At the same time phase 2 of the project has begun which will reveal the new function room and conservatory later in the year, followed by a brand-new brasserie. The old outdoor swimming pool is currently being demolished to make way for the new luxury spa and 18 new bedrooms, ready for the start of 2018.
