The Lake View Restaurant retain AA Rosette

The management and staff at the Inn on the Lake, Ullswater have been celebrating this week, after retaining their two AA Rosette status for a third year. About 50 per cent of the hotels and restaurants in the AA Restaurant Guide have a Rosette, which is given to eateries that stand out in their area and where food is prepared with skill using quality ingredients.

The artistic flair of Head Chef Eddie Kilty and his team helped achieved a second AA Rosette back in 2012, by developing and refining the Lake View Restaurant menus. Since then the hotel has worked tirelessly each day to provide their guests with the ultimate fine dining experience.

Dani Hope, Marketing Director, said: “We are over the moon to have maintained the two AA rosette status for the third year running. The accolade from the AA reflects the consistent high standards we aim for.”

The AA inspector dined on pan seared scallops, textures of cauliflower, black pudding fritter and pancetta foam, followed by Asian marinated salmon with spaghetti vegetables, pak choi, with crispy salt & pepper squid and a Thai infused broth.

After which he commented that the Inn on the Lake have continued to produce a strong menu, showing seasonality, creativity, not to mention the technical abilities that have gone into various dishes. The inspector also stated that if he had been staying a second night he would have had the exact same dishes, they were that good.

Head Chef Eddie Kilty commented, “It was a proud moment to hear that we had retained our 2 AA Rosette award. We have built up a strong reputation and there is a lot of pressure to keep the standard high. All of the team have worked exceptionally well, from the kitchen, to the restaurant and front of house, it’s a real team effort here”.
