Running in aid of Keswick School, raises over £1,300

The 2018 Keswick half marathon saw record breaking temperatures last Sunday, however that didn’t stop our dedicated team from taking part. John Paul Murphy (housekeeper) and Magor Csulak (chef de partie) from the Borrowdale Hotel, along with 3 regular guests took on the gruelling 13.1-mile challenge, alongside Maria Quigley, Sales Manager at the Skiddaw Hotel, to raise an impressive £1,340.70 for Keswick School.

Maria Quigley, Sales Manager at the Skiddaw Hotel in Keswick was one of the many to take on the challenge, running her last half marathon in 2 hours and 28 minutes, Maria managed to beat her record by 11 minutes. While the group from the Borrowdale Hotel all managed to pass the finish line within half an hour of each other.

George Smith, General Manager at the Borrowdale Hotel, commented, “We are all very proud of our team of runners, the support from start to finish has been fantastic and they have raised a tremendous amount of money for a well deserving cause. The Keswick half marathon is said to be one of the most scenic half marathons in the country but I’ve also heard it’s one of the toughest, so a big well done to everyone that took part.”
