The Lake District is the UK’s most Instagrammed beauty spot!

With glistening lakes, vast rolling hills, striking mountains and babbling brooks aplenty, it comes as no surprise that the Lake District has been announced as the UK’s most Instagrammed beauty spot!

Comparable to something out of a fairy-tale, the picturesque landscape of the Lake District has always been the most attractive reason for guests visiting the area. However, with overseas holidays being virtually none existent for the past year and staycations on the rise, it seems that more and more Brits have been discovering the sheer exquisiteness of the area.

In a recent case study conducted by Absolutely Bear, their research found that out of all the popular nature spots in the UK, the Lake District came out on top with over 3.5 million hashtagged posts. This put us ahead of other popular UK beauty destinations including Loch Ness, Dorset Downs, the Yorkshire Dales, Durdle Door & the Eden Project to name a few.

Not only has the Lake District dominated Google searches among Britons looking to book their next UK based getaway, but Cumbrian locals have well and truly taken advantage of the past year of lockdowns by throwing themselves into the local scenery – including many of our staff members!

From Wainwright bagging to wild swimming, many of our team members have discovered new found hobbies during this time and now have an immense appreciation for their home.

Take a look at some of the lovely photos that our team members have shared over the past year that very clearly demonstrates exactly why the Lake District is the leading UK beauty spot on Instagram.

Paddle-boarding has been all the rage this past year, and there is no finer place to take in the views than Derwentwater lake

The view from the top of Catbells always takes our breath away, but its made that bit sweeter when there’s a cloud inversion over Bassenthwaite which makes Skiddaw look like it’s floating!
