A Taste of Mexico, One Taco at a Time...
As summer begins, these tacos arrive like the first sun-soaked day of the year… vibrant, colourful, and impossible to resist. Each one is crafted with delicate, fresh ingredients that melt effortlessly on the tongue like ice cream. Freshness meets bold flavours that transport you to sun-drenched beaches and bustling Mexican street markets.
Exclusive to Inn on The Square and available Monday to Thursday from 12pm to 5pm, we hope to share with you what we love most about summer in the heart of Keswick.
Taco de Barbacoa
Tender, slow-braised beef is shredded to perfection, after hours of patient cooking. A crisp red cabbage slaw brings brightness and crunch, while spicy ranch adds a creamy warmth that envelops the taste buds. Crispy shallots provide a delicate golden crisp before the roasted tomato salsa delivers a smoky finish that lingers long after the final bite.
Taco de Pollo Asado
Marinated chicken kissed by the grill, juicy and lightly charred, forms the heart of this fresh and vibrant taco. Shredded lettuce and fragrant corriander bring a burst of freshness, while the crumbled feta melts gently into every mouthful. Just before leaving the kitchen, they are dressed in a bright summer citrus finish from our salsa verde.
Taco de Chorizo
Bold, warming and full of character, the chorizo taco begins with perfectly seasoned sausage, delivering a gentle heat that builds with every bite. Sweet corn salsa offers bursts of sunshine while shredded lettuce keeps everything light and fresh. Pickled red onions cut through the richness with a bright tang, creating a flavour combination that keeps you coming back for just one more bite.
Buffalo Cauliflower Taco
Crispy cauliflower tossed in hot sauce as though gently warmed by the summer sun, slowly unfolding in steady waves – a summer day and summer evening held in the same bite. Cooled by ranch slaw like a welcomed summer breeze and in good company with black beans that bring a quiet earthiness. Topped with jalapenos that cut through, releasing little bursts of heat that linger like summer heat.
Taco de Carnitas
Step into the streets of Mexico City with the Taco de Carnitas. Blanketed in a soft, warm tortilla, slow-cooked pork pulls apart with the gentlest touch. Rich with the flavour absorbed along the way, the edges are rewarded with a delicious, caramelized crunch. These “little meats” are lifted with fresh white onion and a squeeze of lime. Salsa awaits in the shade with a necessary acidic pop, completing the balance of each bite.
