The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Restaurant Supervisor to join our Food & Beverage team at the beautiful Inn on the Lake, Ullswater.

Working within our busy 4-star hotel, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences across our Lake View Restaurant and Orangery, while supporting the Restaurant Manager with the smooth day-to-day running of the department.

This is a varied, hands-on supervisory role where you will lead by example, support and develop the team, and ensure our guests receive warm, attentive and professional service. With a busy restaurant operation alongside weddings, private functions and events throughout the year, no two days are quite the same.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising and supporting the restaurant team throughout service, ensuring consistently high standards.
• Leading shifts, organising the team and maintaining a smooth and efficient service across the restaurant and Orangery.
• Supporting the delivery of weddings, private functions and events when required.
• Training, coaching and developing team members to improve service standards and product knowledge.
• Providing a welcoming and professional guest experience, responding to enquiries and feedback.
• Maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness and attention to detail throughout the department.
• Working closely with the kitchen and wider Food & Beverage team to ensure seamless service.
• Supporting the Restaurant Manager with daily operations, stock control and departmental procedures.
