Our Supplier Spotlight:

Chris Freer Photography

  • Tell us a little bit about yourself and your business…

My name is Chris and I’m very fortunate to call the Lake District my home – I’ve been a professional wedding photographer since 2005.

  • How would you describe your style?

My style of wedding photography is simple. A minimal amount of naturally posed images, done in such a way that your personalities shine through. I want you to feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera with plenty of candid shots. I want to tell the story of your day; the real stuff that happens. The emotions, fun, the laughter, the quirks and craziness of you and your guests, the unplanned, unscripted parts that I know you’ll look back on and love!

  • What do you love most about working at Lodore Falls?

Lodore offers so many opportunities from a photography perspective; the hotel itself is wonderful, from the bridal suites, the gazebo, to the gardens. The very impressive spa building also provides an amazing backdrop for pictures at night. The staff and service are always first class, and it’s very much a pleasure to be asked to photograph a wedding at Lodore. I’m lucky enough to have shot well over 100 weddings there in the past few years.

  • What’s your top piece of advice for couples planning their wedding?

Find the right suppliers that fit with yourselves and the style of your wedding. Use their experience and knowledge to help plan your wedding, and once the morning comes, just let the day run. A wedding is an organic event, and it’s best to leave it to the professional on the day, because we’ll all be doing our best to ensure you have an amazing time.

Makeup By Polly

  • Tell us a little bit about yourself and your business…

I’m Polly and I specialise in luxury bridal makeup across the Lake District. With over a decade of experience and a deep passion for enhancing natural beauty, I work closely with each bride to ensure they feel confident, radiant, and truly themselves on their wedding day.

  • How would you describe your style?

My style is all about timeless elegance with a modern, effortless edge. I focus on glowing skin, soft definition, and enhancing each client’s natural features rather than masking them. Every look is bespoke, tailored to reflect your personality, wedding vibe, and individual beauty. Whether you’re after something classic and refined or soft and romantic, I’ll work with you to create a look that feels authentic and picture-perfect from every angle.

  • What do you love most about working at Lodore Falls?

Lodore Falls is one of those venues that takes your breath away. Nestled in the heart of the Lake District with the dramatic backdrop of the falls and Derwentwater, it’s the dream setting for a wedding. From a makeup artist’s perspective, the natural light in the bridal suites is a dream to work in; it really makes a difference when creating a flawless finish. Plus, the staff are so lovely and accommodating. There’s such a calm, luxurious atmosphere that helps the whole morning flow beautifully.

  • What’s your standout wedding moment?

There are so many gorgeous memories from Lodore Falls, but one that stands out was a spring wedding. The bride had an outdoor ceremony, followed by portraits at golden hour with the mountains behind her. It was magical! Her look was soft, dewy and romantic, think rosy cheeks, fluttery lashes, and a fresh glow. Seeing her beaming with happiness as she walked back up the aisle made all the early prep completely worth it.

  • What’s your top piece of advice for couples planning their wedding?

Don’t forget to factor in time for yourself on the morning of your wedding. The getting-ready part of the day sets the tone — it should be relaxed, fun, and full of excitement. I always recommend creating a calm space, surrounding yourself with your closest people. Trust your suppliers to take care of the rest. And of course, have a great playlist and a glass of bubbles to hand!

  • What do you love most about working at Lodore Falls?

The support, warmth, and camaraderie make Lodore a genuinely great venue to work with.

It was such a joy to attend a wedding at Lodore as both the cake maker and a guest — being able to experience the day from both sides was a real standout moment, and the team made everything feel seamless, supportive, and extra special.

Choose a cake that reflects your style and the feel of your day, but also trust your cake maker’s experience and allow them to bring a little bit of creativity to the table – we’re here to guide you on what works best in both design and flavour.

I’m Jason, and I live in the beautiful mountain town of Keswick! I’ve been photographing weddings for almost 20 years now – I love capturing weddings and portraits to create beautiful Fine Art Albums for my clients to cherish for years to come.

  • How would you describe your style?

I would describe my photography style as timeless and fun, with a zesty creative edge, using any weather condition the Lake District throws at me.

  • What do you love most about working at Lodore Falls?

Lodore is surrounded by some of my favourite views in the Lake District and is blessed with the sun setting directly in front of the Hotel, which is perfect for those early evening atmospheric photographs.

  • What’s your standout wedding moment?

The most standout moment I have personally experienced is stripping down to my underpants and jumping in the lake after my camera flash fell off the jetty into the water! Luckily, I saved my flash and warmed up quickly after a refreshing February dip… The bride and groom enjoyed the show and said, “You have made our wedding day.”

  • What’s your top piece of advice for couples planning their wedding?

Timeframes, remember timeframes. If your wedding is at 12.30, be ready before 12.00. Don’t forget you have a meeting before your ceremony time.

Glen Anderson

  • Tell us a little bit about yourself and your business…

I’m Glen Anderson – a wedding entertainer, vocalist, guitar player, DJ & host. I’m proud to be a recommended supplier at one of the most prestigious and stunning wedding venues in the UK. With roots in stage performance, television and radio, I now focus on providing the best in live wedding entertainment throughout the Lake District & Cumbria.

  • How would you describe your style?
My style is dynamic, heartfelt and highly personalised. I offer a wide variety of music and cater for all age groups, covering most genres, from classics right through to modern-day hits. With a wealth of experience, I’m adept at reading the room, and I engage with every guest. I receive many comments on my versatility, which is a valuable and most sought-after trait in a wedding entertainer!
  • What do you love most about working at Lodore Falls?
What’s not to love?! Set in a beautiful location, you quickly realise how spectacular the hotel is, especially with the spa, colourful gardens and sensational panoramic views – it has a special ambience. I love performing here, whether it’s surrounded by the breathtaking natural scenery or in the charming Derwent Suite; every moment is elevated by the venue’s fabulous backdrop and wonderful atmosphere. And last, but certainly not least, I love the fantastic team, who are always very helpful and ensure the day runs seamlessly
  • What’s your standout wedding moment?
My favourite memory is from a wedding where I was performing from the Gazebo. It was 30 minutes before the ceremony, and I observed that the groom (and his best man) were VERY nervous, so I suggested singing a song. Suffice it to say, this worked a treat, and one song turned into five or six! The groom and his best man visibly relaxed and joined in, along with all their lovely guests, who were cheerfully singing along, waving their hands in the air, and even requesting songs! All before we got so much as a glimpse of the bride!
  • What’s your top piece of advice for couples planning their wedding?
My advice to engaged couples is to carefully consider what is important to you both (not your mother-in-law or Aunt Mabel). Planning can be rather daunting, so planning early will mitigate stress and provide a better chance of finding and securing the right people to help make your dream day come true. Your wedding day will fly by, so my advice is to make the most of this beautiful venue, soak it all in and embrace each moment.
