It’s time to wave goodbye to the old year and welcome in the new at the Inn on the Lake. This New Year, we have prepared a programme full of exquisite cuisine, impeccable service, a warm atmosphere and unmissable events, creating a New Year unlike any you’ve ever experienced before.

Upon arrival, unwind in the Orangery as our resident harpist sets the tone, whilst you get the opportunity to indulge in our luxurious Lakeland gin afternoon tea. Delight in an array of finger sandwiches, savoury treats, festive cake, and a selection of tea and coffee, all complemented by a tempting gin & tonic!
In the evening, join our General Manager and his team for a sophisticated sparkling wine and canapés reception. Then, proceed to the elegant Lake View restaurant for a delectable four-course dinner, featuring a fabulous assortment of desserts to conclude your meal.
Afterwards, join us for a candlelit stroll to our lakeside Victorian gazebo, where you can enjoy a comforting hot toddy or mulled wine, as well as toasted chestnuts and marshmallows. With only the soft glow of lanterns and the moonlight reflecting off the lake and surrounding mountains, you'll feel transported to a Winter Wonderland.
Conclude the evening with some light-hearted fun at our fun 'night at the races' event, held in the beautiful Candleroom.

Wonderful stay in a fabulous location. Staff are fantastic and really create a friendly family atmosphere. Plenty of activities arranged to keep you occupied and thought the dining was superb.

Prepare for the upcoming festivities with a hearty Cumbrian breakfast and a refreshing glass of Bucks Fizz. Following breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning with the option to take a leisurely stroll to the magnificent Aira Force waterfall or join our winter treasure hunt around the village. Return to the hotel to warm up by the roaring fire and indulge in soup, sandwiches and delectable sweet treats to put you on.
In the afternoon, gather the family for a scenic cruise on the Ullswater Steamers around the lake, weather permitting. Admire the stunning scenery whilst sipping on tasty hot chocolate and enjoying delicious cookies.
Later, don your finest attire and strike a pose in front of the Christmas tree for a professional photo, yours to take home as a cherished memento of your stay. Anticipation builds for the evening's highlight: a luxurious five-course black-tie dinner, featuring a showstopping dessert meticulously prepared by our Head Chef and his team. Indulge in this unique dining experience in the elegant Lake View Restaurant, followed by unmissable live entertainment from our resident singer & DJ. Keep an eye out for the traditional piper too!
Raise your glass for a Champagne toast at the stroke of midnight, then dance the night away until 1am. Conclude the evening with freshly baked pizzas provided by the kitchen.

If you've had a late night, there's no rush down to breakfast because today, we're hosting a leisurely jazz brunch from 10am to 2pm! Begin with a refreshing Bucks Fizz before indulging in our fantastic hot and cold buffet. Relax and recover from last night's festivities while enjoying the lively tunes of our jazz band, offering sounds from New Orleans and Mississippi.
For those craving fresh air, join our guide for a leisurely New Year's Day walk to a nearby beauty spot. In the afternoon, treat yourself to our indulgent hot chocolate station, featuring a variety of toppings such as milk and white chocolate, Nutella, whipped cream, mini marshmallows and more. Afterwards, put your taste buds to the test with our fun mince pie blind tasting, or opt for a sparkling wine tasting experience.
Later, take a moment to strike a pose for a whimsical illustration from our friendly caricaturist before indulging in a sparkling four-course farewell dinner. After dinner, join us for some light-hearted entertainment in the lounges with our famous Big Fat Quiz of the Year, testing your knowledge on the year’s events.
