We’re pleased to announce that, following the latest government guidance, The Falls Spa will reopen on Friday 17th July with limited facilities and no Spa Days/Pamper Days for the time being to hotel residents only. Please take a look at our FAQ’s below to find out more.
Unfortunately at this moment in time we cannot offer our usual wonderful packages and certain treatments to follow the guidelines set by the Government. So, we have created a selection of luxurious treats to reset and relax your mind and body and to welcome you back to your favourite spa.
Please note the therapists will be wearing PPE and following guidelines to ensure that both the therapist and the guest feels safe and at ease. For some selected treatments * we will be requesting you to wear a face mask for part of the treatment. As part of your consultation your therapist will explain the procedures – so don’t worry relax and let our therapists look after you.
We will aim to keep this page updated as and when changes are made, and appreciate your understanding, patience and flexibility during this time.
What will be available in The Falls Spa from 17th July?
The outdoor pool, heated loungers, sun loungers and Champagne Bar will be open to The Falls Spa guests. 50-minute treatments will be available to book at an extra charge and the relaxation lounge will be available to relax in post-treatment. All other facilities will be closed for the time being as per Government guidelines.
I’m staying in a Spa Suite. How do I book my time slot in The Falls Spa?
We are asking our Spa Suite guests to pre-book a 2-hour slot to guarantee their time in The Falls Spa. To do this, call The Falls Spa on 017687 87704.
I’m NOT staying in a Spa Suite. How do I book my time slot in The Falls Spa?
Guests staying in other room types can only book spa access on the day of arrival, subject to availability on a first come first serve basis for £10 per person.
What will I be able to do in The Falls Spa?
You can use the outdoor pool, heated loungers, sun loungers and enjoy a drink or snack from the Champagne Bar. Treatments can be booked separately, subject to availability.
What treatments can I book?
All available treatments will be listed on our website. We are currently only offering these to hotel residents.
How often can I book spa access during my stay at the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa?
For 1-night stays in a Spa Suite enjoy 2-hours spa access on day of arrival. Spa access time slots on day of arrival are either 3.30pm-5.30pm or 6.30pm-8.30pm. These can be booked over the phone prior to arrival.
Stays of 2 or more nights in a Spa Suite can enjoy 2-hours spa access on day of arrival plus a 2-hour spa slot every other day of your stay, except on day of checkout.
All other room types at the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa can book a 2-hour spa access slot on the day (subject to availability) for £10 per person.
Have you reduced your spa-access prices if I’m staying at the hotel?
Yes. For guests who stay in our spa suites, we have discounted the daily room rate by £30 per room. If you have already booked a spa suite, then we will ensure the discount is applied. For new customers, you will find that our rates are already discounted. For residents in our other room types, you will be able to book spa access for £10 per person, on the day only.
How many people will be in The Falls Spa at any one time?
To adhere with social distancing guidelines, we will be allowing only 10 people in the spa during any 2-hour time slot. This might mean that your preferred time slot will be already fully booked, so we appreciate your flexibility, patience and understanding.
Can I book a spa day/pamper day?
At the time of publishing this update, spa days/pamper days are not available to book as we do not know when the full spa facilities will be available to use. We will update this as soon as possible.
I have a voucher for The Falls Spa, when can I use it?
Any vouchers which may have expired during lockdown or are close to expiring will be honoured and extended. Alternatively, you can use a Falls Spa voucher on overnight stays, food or drink in The Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa or any of our sister hotels and restaurants.

Yes, vouchers can be purchased online with a 1st September start date, however we can not yet take bookings for spa days/pamper days. We will extend the voucher start date automatically to the date we reopen bookings of spa days/pamper days.

Please note The Falls Spa guidelines and changes in accordance with government guidelines and in order to ensure our guests and teams are kept safe and healthy throughout their experience:
Treatments are currently unavailable, but watch this space as we will open them up at the earliest and safest opportunity based on government guidelines.
When booking a spa suite you will be offered a 2 hour time slot for each day of your stay, including a time slot post 3pm on day of arrival and pre 12pm on day of check-out. Slots require pre-booking and are on a first come, first served basis so be sure to book sooner rather than later to get the time you prefer.
We are unable to extend any of the time slots, so if you arrive late to your time slot we will not be able to extend it for you. This is because we will be closing the spa after each time slot for deep cleaning before the arrival of our next guests.
We will stagger your arrival time to avoid groups of people gathering at reception.
We will ask you to complete our health questionnaire pre-arrival and send back to us or bring it with you to the spa.
Guests are asked to change into swimwear, robes and slippers in their hotel room as the spa changing rooms will be closed.
Number of people accessing the spa will be limited to ensure social distancing can be applied throughout the spa. Social distancing will apply in all areas of the spa including the pool.
Our teams will be wearing necessary PPE and we will be following social distancing guidelines and stringent cleaning and disinfecting procedures.
The thermal suite will have signage guiding you through the thermal journey with regards to numbers of people in each area, and for now we will be keeping the steam rooms and ice fountain closed until further notice.
We will be operating a 2-in, 2-out policy in our thermal rooms.
Beds around the pool will be distanced accordingly and should not be moved.
The Champagne Bar will operate with table service only, so please take a seat and wait to be served by the spa butler. Measures are in place so that you can still enjoy a glass of champagne in the pool.
Our Rasul treatment can be booked for 2-4 people that live in the same household or are in the same bubble. Contact the spa for further details.
The spa team have the right to ensure the guidelines are followed to keep you safe.
I am sure it all sounds very different especially if you have visited us prior Covid-19 but we hope you will understand our new procedures and policies are guided by the government and the UK Spa Association. The positives….. You will be having almost exclusive access with reduced numbers so it will be like having the spa all to yourself, imagine sitting in the pool overlooking Derwentwater and Catbells with a glass of bubbles….bliss.
Thank you for your understanding
